As Smith Vineyard’s second generation, Gary and Christina Smith continue the fine art of winemaking and vineyard tending that Gary’s father began with his three sons. Now with three sons of their own, the Smiths handcraft small lots of classic varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Primitivo, Syrah and Chardonnay from their 10 acre certified organic vineyard near Grass Valley, CA. |
Tasting notes:
Juicy pear and citrus aromas lead to a full-bodied, buttery mouth feel. Bright flavors of pear tart, baking spices and lemon zest carry through to a fresh, clean finish. A well-made chardonnay that stays fresh and agile despite its richness.
Pairing ideas:
Great on its own, terrific with cheeses, or fabulous with salmon-stuffed ravioli in creamy dill sauce.
